The Economic Development Corporation promotes St. Thomas as an attractive location in which to build new ideas and assists businesses in the actual process of choosing and locating. The Corporation does this through a number of means, including external marketing, trade shows, company visitations, as well as remaining in close contact with a variety of prospect generators. In addition, the Corporation works closely with existing businesses to ensure that the local business environment is a healthy one that encourages the prosperity and expansion of those companies which call St. Thomas home.

Letters Patent: The original Letters Patent were issued to the St. Thomas Economic Development Corporation on October 15, 1956. Supplementary Letters Patent were issued October 19, 1979 and February 6, 2001. Combined terms of the Original and Supplementary Letters Patent are on file with the Corporation.
